Doesnt work

I cannot get this alarm to work! I have left the app open and allowed my screen to turn off by itself and the alarm still fails to go off! It will come up in the notification window, but makes no sound. Absolutely ridiculous and a waste of $2 as I paid to get additional sounds before I knew it didnt work.
